Add Random Stimulus Assignment

Add Random Stimulus Assignment (RSA) as part of the process of adding a new question to a survey.

Please note these constraints:

• You cannot add RSA to an existing question.
• Images for RSA must already be present in your image collection before you can assign them. See Upload images.

To add Random Stimulus Assignment to a question

1. On the Edit Survey page, click .
2. On the Add Question or Text page, under Formatting Options, click Random Stimulus Assignment.
3. On the RSA page, choose the number of stimuli (up to 15), then click .

   RSA automatically adds the corresponding number of editors, one for each stimulus.

4. Enter stimulus:

   Text: use the editor to type each stimulus. (Note: if you are using MS Word as your text source for copy-and-paste, use (the Word filter option) in the editor. Text pasted from Word without this filter carries data that can exceed your stimulus limits and may render your text unreadable.)

   Images: in the editor, use (insert image button) to select images from your image collection.

5. Apply Question Logic (if you choose to) to each of the stimuli after you create the Random Stimulus Assignment element. (i.e., If stimuli #2 is presented, skip to question X). In the Survey Editor, click Add Logic.
