Using images

Images generally serve two purposes in a survey:

• as formatting elements (such as a logo, or other graphic); or
• as a stimulus in a survey question.

Note: You can only use images that have already been uploaded to your PsychData account.

Images can be inserted into your survey in three ways:

• As a standalone image

  You can insert any of the images you have uploaded to your Image Collection.

  To insert a stand-alone image:

  1. On My Surveys, click the survey title (or the edit icon).
  2. Locate the place in the survey to add an image and click Add Question or Text
  3. On the Add Question or Text page click Insert Image into Survey.

     

  4. Choose an image from the list of images in your Image Collection and click Insert Image into Survey.

• Embedded within other text using the Rich Text Editor (including Random Stimulus Assignment)
  1. Chose a survey to Edit from the My Surveys page
  2. Click "Add Question or Text" at the desired location for the image.
  3. Click "Rich Text Editor" from the next menu.

     

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and follow directions starting with, "Click to view My Image Collection". Copy the URL of the desired image for use in the next step.
  5. At the desired location, within your text, click on the "Insert Image Icon"

     

  6. Paste the URL from Step 4 into the "URL" box on the popup window and then click "OK"

     

• As part of a Multiple-Choice Question (e.g., embedded within the question or as visual answers)

  To use an image for an answer, paste in the URL for the desired image (from My Image Collection) as an answer for a question. The URL for your image will need to be inserted using the following HTML:

  <img src='YOUR IMAGE LINK'><br>

  For example:

  <img src='https://www.psychdata.com/users/images/u17-cup1.jpg'><br>
