This study has been approved by Barry University's Institutional Review Board

You are invited to participate in a research study entitled: Predictors of Successful Transitions from College to Work among College Students. The purpose of the study is to examine ­the predictive role of behaviors, attitudes and traits exhibited at school in the transition to work in emerging adults. The anticipated number of participants is 500. Participation is voluntary. Should you decline to participate or choose to drop out at any time during the study, there will be no adverse effects. There are no alternative procedures aside from withdrawing from the study.

Participation in the study is unlikely to cause discomfort or pose any risk to you. While there may be no direct benefit to you, the research will help us learn more about college students’ success in their transition to work.

As a research participant, information you provide is anonymous, that is, no names or other identifiers will be collected. PsychData.com allows researchers to suppress the delivery of IP addresses during the downloading of data, and in this study no IP address will be delivered to the researcher. However, PsyData.com does collect IP addresses for its own purposes. If you have concerns about this, you should review the privacy policy of PsyData.com before you begin. All data will be kept indefinitely OR for at least five years following completion of the study. If it becomes necessary to destroy the data later, electronic data will be destroyed by double deleting from the hard drive and Recycle Bin. Hard copy data will be shredded.

The data, with any identifiers removed, may also be used in future research or distributed to another investigator without additional informed consent.

If you decide to participate in this research project, you will be asked to do the following: answer the questions provided in the questionnaire that follows this letter. The questionnaire is estimated to take between 20 to 35 minutes to complete. You can skip any questions you do not want to answer. You may be able to receive 2 extra credit points for your participation at the discretion of your professors. You can print the anonymous “thank you” page as proof of participation in this study.
